Charo Ruiz is a Spanish designer and founder of the fashion brand Charo. Born the daughter of a seamstress, she discovered her passion for fashion at a young age. After working as a model for a while, she decided to start her own fashion line. In 1984, Charo moved to Ibiza to open her own atelier. The island not only offered her an inspiring environment, but also a place where she could showcase her unique designs. In the 80s, Ibiza was a popular meeting place for artists, designers and celebrities from all over the world. Charo's fashion collections quickly gained popularity among the island's discerning and trend-conscious customers.
