Cuba Lab stands for much more than just bags. The brand impressively combines creativity, craftsmanship, and sustainability. Each piece tells a story – from the upcycling of premium materials to the empowerment of individuals who find new paths in life through this project.

The Vision of Cuba Lab
Cuba Lab is not just a bag brand – it is a sustainable brand initiative committed to promoting human and professional development through the art of leather craftsmanship. At the heart of this project is the transmission of traditional craft techniques and the creation of high-quality products that are both eco-friendly and stylish. The inception of Cuba Lab stems from years of collaboration between the social promotion association Artesania and the renowned leather lab of the Italian rehabilitation community San Patrignano.
A Deeply Rooted Project
With generous support from the Tod's group, which provides modern technologies and resources, Cuba Lab has succeeded in creating a creative symbiosis between humanity, craftsmanship, and design. This unique partnership has produced a design process that combines authenticity, creativity, and innovative product development. The focus is always on the connection between tradition and modernity.
The Collection: An Expression of Cuban Vitality
Inspired by the rich culture of Cuba and the Caribbean spirit, Cuba Lab's first collection was crafted from natural and recycled materials. The iconic “Habanera” bag, created in 2020 as a reinterpretation of the traditional Cuban Alforja bag, symbolizes the fusion of heart and craftsmanship. This artisanal excellence and cultural heritage are reflected in every bag in the collection.
In 2021, the collaboration with brand ambassador Amanda Ross, a renowned stylist and founder, further enhanced the brand's success. Together, they created the "Habanera Arossgirl" collection, which became an international hit. Today, in addition to the Habanera, there are other impressive bag models like “Tropicana,” “Riviera,” and “Paloma.” Each bag is not only a fashion statement but also bears the personal signature of the artisans involved in its creation.
Sustainability at the Core
Cuba Lab is committed to sustainability and responsible consumption. In collaboration with San Patrignano and the Tod's group, the brand has established a design process centered on recycling and upcycling. Instead of producing new materials, Cuba Lab uses high-quality leather scraps from Tod's saddlery and surplus luxury textiles from major fashion brands. This approach significantly reduces environmental impact and cuts CO₂ emissions from textile and leather production by up to 80%.
