Books as Artworks

Library Collection: The Step into Interior Design

In spring 2025, Assouline launched the Library Collection – a luxurious range of home accessories including bookends, trays, hourglasses, jewelry dishes, and an artistic backgammon set, crafted from materials like leather, walnut, and brass. Curated by Alex Assouline and designer Pierre Favresse, each item is handmade and reflects the cultural DNA of the brand, creating a refined “home library” experience that seamlessly unites literature and design.

Assouline’s Candles

Alongside its books, Assouline introduced the Travel From Home candle collection in 2023, designed to make the spirit of travel tangible – crafted by perfumer Jérôme Epinette. Fragrances like Mykonos, Tulum, or Gstaad bring sensory experiences into the home. These candles also embody the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and ambiance.

Assouline Collaborations

Assouline is renowned for its collaborations with luxury brands such as Gucci, Olympia Le‑Tan, and Oliver Peoples. A standout moment was the partnership with Roc Nation and artist Daniel Arsham: in February 2025, a limited-edition sculptural version of The Book of HOV, dedicated to JAY‑Z, was released in only five copies worldwide.

Assouline x One Tree Planted

Assouline has also made a significant commitment to environmental responsibility. In collaboration with the nonprofit organization One Tree Planted, the brand pledges to plant one tree for every book sold. Launched in 2019, this initiative marks a vital step toward a more sustainable future. One Tree Planted, an organization devoted to global reforestation, shares Assouline’s vision for a healthier planet. Together, they are working to make the world greener. Following its founding in Paris, Assouline quickly expanded, opening its first brand boutique in Paris in 2006, followed by its flagship store in New York in 2007. Additional locations have since opened in London, Madrid, Sydney, Bal Harbour, Houston, and Mexico City – with a refined new location on New York’s Madison Avenue unveiled in 2024.
